My Gear
Having the right kit to take good photos, although not essential does help, and i find it makes taking photos more enjoyable,Here’s a peek at what I use to capture the UK's amazing landscapes,Seascapes and wildlife.
Camera Body 1
I use the Om-System Om-1 Mark ii, my trusty go to camera for various photo adventures. It’s great for landscapes, seascapes, and a fast enough shutter speed to catch even the quickest wildlife and being weatherproof is a huge bonus
Camera body 2
My second camera is a OMsystem om-5,it’s great for when the weather takes a turn for the worst,it has great weatherproofing as well,it’s also light and very compact, ideal travel camera.
Camera Body 3
I’m lucky enough to still have my Canon r7,which was my go to camera for a long time, amazing all round camera.
Drone I have a dji mini 2,i don’t use it as much as i should, but when i do it takes good photos and film footage.Lenses
OMsystem 12-45mm f4 pro great all round lens, from portraits to wide vistas
Om-system 40-150mm f4 pro this lens is so sharp, great all rounder
Om-system 100-400mm f5-f6.3,this tele photo lens has 800mm full frame equivalent reach,it’s pretty amazing
Panasonic lumix 25mm f1.7,use this mainly for indoor family shots.
RF 18-150mm f3.5-6.3: A versatile lens for everything from close-ups to wide landscapes.
RF :100-400 f5.6-8 An excellent lens for wildlife photography, letting me capture details from afar without spooking the animals,or zooming in for a more intimate landscape photo.
I also have an Ef to Rf adapter to use older canon lenses
Sigma 10-18mm f4-5.6 wide angled lens great for wider landscape shots.
Canon 70-200mm f2.8 l lens really great lens, sharp images, and really good in low light.
Tripod
I have a Smallrig 72 inch tripod,it’s compact and lightweight, even though my cameras have amazing image stabilistion it’s essential for long exposures and stability on tricky ground. It keeps my shots steady, no matter where I am.
Camera bags
My camera bag collection seems to get bigger all the time, but i have three bags i use all the time
Tarion sp-01 This is my large bag,it’s great for long days out hiking,i can fit all my camera gear, and my drone at a squeeze, plus water proofs, snacks and the all important flask
Lowpro Slingshot 202 aw I use this alot, really good for when i don’t need as much gear, still holds a good amount of kit.
K&F concept 10l A handy small everyday bag,for a camera,a lens and a few bits.
Filters
My ND and polarising filters are must-haves. ND filters create smooth effects on water, while polarising filters reduce glare and boost colors during gorgeous sunsets.
Accessories
Don’t forget the extras! A remote shutter release is great for long exposures, i have a couple of capture clips so i can quickly attach my cameras to my camera bag straps so i’m hands free,a neewer waterproof cover for my R7,extra batteries keep me shooting longer, and a cleaning kit helps maintain my gear, especially with the UK weather.
With this gear, I’m ready for new adventures and to capture the stunning beauty of the UK. Who knows what exciting finds are ahead? Let’s discover together!
